If the result states that the specimen in dilute, it simply means that the urine specimen has a creatinine level between 2mg/dl and 20mg/dl and a specific gravity of 1.003 or less. Could just be that the donor consumed alot of water before providing the urine sample which diluted the urine.

How much hair does the lab need to do a hair drug test?

In order for the lab to be able to accurately test a hair sample it must be at least 2 inches in length if taken from the head or enough to form a cotton ball sized amount if taken anywhere else from the body. Head hair cannot be combined with hair taken from other parts of the body.
