A urine drug test, also known as a urine drug screen or urinalysis, is a diagnostic test that analyzes a person's urine to detect the presence of specific drugs or their metabolites (byproducts). This type of drug test is often used in employment screenings, sports organizations, legal proceedings, and medical evaluations. It is a non-invasive and relatively simple method for assessing whether a person has used certain drugs within a specific timeframe.

What is included in this test?

This test detects:

• Ethyl glucuronide (ETG Alcohol)
• Cocaine
• Marijuana (THC, cannabinoids)
• Phencyclidine (PCP)
• Amphetamines (including methamphetamines, also known as crystal meth)
• Benzodiazepines (such as Xanax)
• Barbiturates
• Methadone
• Propoxyphene
• Methaqualone (Quaaludes)

* This test detects the presence of ETG, a metabolite of ethanol (alcohol). ETG can be measured in a person’s urine up to 80 hours after ethanol is ingested. Because of its high sensitivity and longer detection window, ETG screening is considered the gold standard in alcohol testing.
